

On the afternoon of October 9th, Dr. Kenneth M. Quinn, the Honorary Chairman of the World Food Prize Foundation, visited Hebei Agricultural University for academic exchange. Hebei Agricultural University held the Global Agricultural Cooperation Youth Salon and Honorary Professor Awarding Ceremony for Dr. Quinn at the Conference Room of Digital Library on East Campus. A total of 60 persons attended this event, including Professor Zhao Jianjun (President of Hebei Agricultural University), Mr. Ye Changqing (Executive Vice Chairman of Hebei Provincial Association for International Exchange), Professor Zhou Chunjiang (Vice President of Hebei Agricultural University), and department heads, experts, scholars and students from various colleges of Hebei Agricultural University.
President Zhao Jianjun delivered a speech, expressing gratitude to Dr. Quinn, introducing the history, disciplinary strengths and international cooperation achievements of Hebei Agricultural University. He emphasized that the World Food Prize Foundation has consistently worked to promote global food security and nutrition improvement, and Dr. Quinn has contributed exceptional wisdom to global agricultural cooperation and efforts to address hunger and poverty. He hopes that this salon would serve as an opportunity to deepen collaboration between Hebei Agricultural University and the World Food Prize Foundation, jointly cultivate young agricultural talents, promote technological innovation and project implementation, and inject new momentum into global agricultural sustainable development.
During the free communication session, Dr. Quinn engaged in lively discussions with faculty staff and students on the hot topics of global agriculture. Representatives from the College of Agronomy, College of Food Science and Technology, College of Life Sciences, College of Plant Protection, College of Horticulture, College of Forestry, College of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, and College of Foreign Languages shared their insights, presenting China's solutions and local experiences in crop breeding, biotechnology, nutrition and health, based on their research and practical expertise. Dr. Quinn responded to each representative, expressing high praise for the professionalism and innovative spirit of the experts, scholars and young students of Hebei Agricultural University.

As for the final procedure of this event, President Zhao Jianjun presented Dr. Quinn with the Honorary Professor Certificate.
After the salon, Dr. Quinn visited the History Museum of Hebei Agricultural University, gaining a comprehensive understanding of the university's 120-year educational history and the development of agricultural education.
