“The 7th International Symposium on Phytochemicals in Medicine and Food (7-I SPMF)” was held in Beijing from August 1st to 6th. Sang Yaxin, a member of the Food Microbiology and Seawater Product Innovation Team at the College of Food Science and Technology, HEBAU, attended the opening ceremony as the co-chairman of the conference and had in-depth and extensive exchanges with domestic and foreign scholars.
More than 600 people from 53 countries and regions registered to attend the conference. The conference covered topics such as secondary metabolites of plants, biological activity, the development and application of natural plant chemicals in the global food industry, the functions of plant chemicals and human health. Through a series of extensive discussions and sufficient exchanges, it provided a good academic exchange platform and cooperation opportunities for researchers especially young scholars in the fields of food and medicine, plant chemicals.
Mao Na, PhD of the College of Food Science and Technology, HEBAU gave a presentation on the topic of “The Investigation of Antitussive Effect of Boiled Pearl Soup Based on Network Pharmacy Combined with Molecular Docking and Cellular Assay”, and won the “Best Presentation Award” at the branch of doctoral forum .Hou Yakun, a young teacher of he College of Food Science and Technology, HEBAU was awarded the "Outstanding Service Award" by the association.
