On November 6th-10th, Christian Toralf Weber, Dean of the School of Engineering and Industrial Design, Dagmar Benkenstein, a German teacher in European Standard at the Magdeburg Stendall University of Applied Technology, Germany as well as Officals from International Cooperation Office (ICO) and College of Mechanic and Electric Engineering, HEBAU jointly organized a series of China-Germany cooperative education and exchange activities, Vice president Zhao Jianjun attended the event.
An exchange symposium took place in HEBAU. Christian Toralf Weber friendly exchanged with students participating in the 2021 China-Germany cooperative education program,and introduced the history of education and characteristics of Magdeburg Stendall University of Applied Technology in detail, as well as the contents of industry-university-research cooperation, achievement transformation, graduate training, professional branch directions, curriculum system, interdisciplinary programs, and internationalization of German education. These helped students to better understand the professional courses in Germany, mutual recognition of exchange and learning courses, and arrangement of graduation programs for overseas internships. Christian Toralf Weber said that Magdeburg Stendall University of Applied Technology would spare no effort in the China-Germany cooperative education program and teaching and would provide the students with high-level learning and life experiences.
In addition, a teaching exchange on mechanical design, manufacturing, and automation as well as a cultural exchange with bilingual programs took place. The German programs, including songs, recitations, riddles, etc. allowed German guests to witness the solid basis of German and versatilities of students in China-Germany class. In the tea ceremony, tea performers showed the exquisite skills of Chinese tea course with their intricate movements, enabling German guests to understand the unique charm of Chinese tea culture.
The series of activities have enhanced communication and mutual trust between both sides, constructed an organic integration curriculum system between China and Germany, created a training model with internationalization as its characteristics, broadened students' international perspectives, and all are conducive to continuously improving the level of China-foreign cooperative education in HEBAU.
