Recently, the Ministry of Education issued the notice on publishing the filing and approval results of undergraduate majors in higher educational implementers in 2021 (JGH [2021] No. 14). The 3 undergraduate majors applied by HEBAU, namely Smart Agriculture, Applied Chemistry and Chinese Language & Literature, were approved for filing.
The major of Smart Agriculture is divided into the directions of Farming (in the College of Agriculture, HEBAU) and Horticulture (in the College of Horticulture, HEBAU). It is a four-year academic system with a bachelor's degree award in agronomy and based on the needs of modern agriculture and the coordinated development of Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei. The major cultivates the all-round talents, who has the basic knowledge of Modern Agriculture, Intelligent Equipment, Big Data, Artificial Intelligence, Internet of Things, Biological Information and other disciplines, and systematically grasps the basic theory and practical skills of modern agricultural intelligent breeding, intelligent production, industrial chain, intelligent management and so on. It is expected that the compound application-oriented talents with innovative and entrepreneurial spirit and strong practical ability can be competent for teaching and scientific research, industrial planning, operation and management, technical services and other works in modern agriculture and related fields.
The major of Applied Chemistry is a four-year academic system with Bachelor of Science Degree in Science (the college of Science, HEBAU). Based on meeting the needs of regional economic and social development and the coordinated development of Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei, the major cultivates the all-round talents with a high sense of social responsibility, good scientific and cultural literacy, broad theoretical foundation, solid ability of analysis and detection. The talents are expected to have basic knowledge, professional knowledge and application ability in applied electrochemistry and material chemistry. Team spirit and certain ability of organization count as well. The cultivation lay importance on the ability to continuously learn and adaption to professional and technological development. The compound talents are expected to have innovative spirit and international vision, and can engage in scientific research, process design, analysis and detection, technology development and application research in Applied Chemistry and related fields, such as chemical industry, materials, energy, pharmacy, food, environmental protection etc.
The major of Chinese Language & Literature is in the College of Humanities and Social Sciences, HEBAU, in a four-year academic system and with Bachelor of Arts degree award. Based on the national rural revitalization strategy, serves the needs of rural cultural revitalization and the coordinated development of Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei, the major intends to cultivate the compound applied senior talents with a firm and correct political direction, a sense of mission and social responsibility in the new era. The compound talents are expected to be confident in Chinese culture and meet the requirements of Chinese cultural construction. With innovative and entrepreneurial spirit and strong practical ability, they are expected to comprehensively develop in morality, intelligence, physique, beauty and labor, have the basic knowledge of Chinese language, literature and culture and systematically master the use of language practical skills in cultural creativity and communication and can be engaged in the fields of administration, education, cultural communication, foreign exchange and other works.
In recent years, HEBAU has closely combined the school running objectives and characteristics to promote the optimization, adjustment and connotation construction of undergraduate majors, focusing on the major national strategies, the needs of regional economic and social development and the coordinated development of Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei.
