On May 26, at the invitation of the Development Research Office of Xiongan New Area, HEBAU, Wu Tie, Deputy-Director of Preparatory Committee of Xiongan New Area and Wang Zhigang, Team Leader of Planning Team came to HEBAU to exchange ideas on the development of Xiongan New Area. At the meeting room on the 10th Floor of the Comprehensive Building, Rao Guisheng, Party Secretary of HEBAU and Shen Shuxing, President of HEBAU had a friendly talk with the group by Wu Tie, while exploring ways of how to serve for the construction of Xiongan New Area by leveraging HEBAU’s characteristic advantages. Also present at the talk were Sun Jianheng, Vice President of HEBAU, Li Tong, Member of Party Committee of HEBAU, Vice Dean of Institute of Science and Technology and some relevant persons from this Institute.
Rao Guisheng expressed his warm welcome to the group by Wu Tie, noting that the establishment of Xiongan New Area is a millennium project and a national big event. He also mentioned that the Party Committee of HEBAU has been paying great attention to the construction of Xiongan New Area, while earnestly studying those documents of the CPC Central Committee and Provincial Party Committee, making positive plans and taking active activities to better serve for the construction of the New Area and making full use of HEBAU’s characteristic advantages. HEBAU has set up a Development Research Office of Xiongan New Area, with Shen Shuxing to be the director of the Office. On the basis of previous full investigations and discussions to Xiongan New Area, and by finding and organizing experts in relevant fields home and abroad, HEBAU has made a series of projects carefully for better serving the construction of the New Area, which deems to promote the development of HEBAU, too.
Shen Shuxing talked about how the Office is working on, its objective concept, working ideas and so on. He also gave a detailed introduction to the following contents like the standards set for green farming products, agricultural supply of ecological leisure sightseeing, green fruits and vegetables and their processing, ecological management and protection to Baiyangdian Lake, landscape gardenization, planning and utilization of land resources, training on new-type professional farmers and so on. He also said that the projects worked out by HEBAU are more practical and useful, which can be easily put into operation because of the HEBAU’s geographical advantages of being close to Xiongan New Area, the science and technology advantages of enough intelligent teachers and professors and the platform advantages of “Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Cooperative Innovation Alliance of Agricultural & Forestry Universities”. It is hoped that by the chance of Director Wu Tie’s visit to HEBAU, some better projects to better serve the development and construction of Xiongan New Area can be explored and worked out and can be implemented successfully.
Later on, Wu Tie had a brief introduction to the process of the decision-making of establishing Xiongan New Area by the CPC Central Committee and State Council, interpreting the functions of Xiongan New Area and the demands for its planning, construction and development, while stressing the key tasks in its recent work and some special planning thoughts on overall planning and eco-environmental management and protection at Xiongan New Area. Wu Tie expressed his thanks to HEBAU’s great attention and strong support to the construction and development of Xiongan New Area. At the same time, he showed his esteem to “Taihang Mount Model” by HEBAU and to Professor Li Baoguo’s meritorious deeds. Besides, he gave some good suggestions on HEBAU’s discipline adjustment, teaching system reform, compound and applied talents training for the New Area, developing innovation and entrepreneurship education programs specially for the construction of the New Area, arranging university students to attend rational internship and practical activities and so on. He also hoped HEBAU to cooperate well with the Preparatory Committee of Xiongan New Area and Xiongan three counties, and together with other agricultural colleges and universities, to do some research work in the fields of Baiyangdian ecological restoration, rivers rehabilitation, afforestation, planning of landscape architecture, city planning, application of new materials and so on, which will be a strong support to Xiongan New Area – the millennium city and future city and which will lead to mutual benefit and fruitful achievements.
