From May 9 to 12, the 2026 Conference on Industry-University-Research-Application Cooperation (Hebei) and the Symposium on Plant Health and Food Security, guided by the Center for School Development and Planning, Ministry of Education, and Hebei Education Department, and hosted by Hebei Agricultural University, was held in the Lecture Hall of the Research Building on the West Campus of Hebei Agricultural University. Professor Zhou Chunjiang, Vice President of Hebei Agricultural University, attended the conference and delivered a speech.   

The conference, themed "Plant Health and Food Security", invited renowned experts and scholars from international institutions such as the University of California, the University of Hawaii, the University of Sydney, the University of South Queensland, and the International Maize and Wheat Improvement Center (CIMMYT), as well as leading Chinese institutions including the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Hunan Academy of Agricultural Sciences, Shandong University, Northeast Agricultural University, and Yangzhou University, to deliver 17 academic presentations. It attracted over 300 experts, scholars, graduate students, and enterprise representatives from around the world to engage in discussions and exchanges.

Adhering to the principles of “Openness, Collaboration, Innovation, and Win-Win Cooperation,” the symposium aimed to establish a high-level international exchange platform, pool global wisdom to address pressing global challenges such as frequent outbreaks of diseases and pests and extreme climate shocks, promote transnational scientific research cooperation and technology transfer, provide intellectual and scientific support for the construction of a global food security governance system, and contribute to the maintenance of world peace, stability, and human survival.
